Can you quote from a sketch or a rendering?

No. We quote from a CAD model, because price depends on geometry we can measure. A sketch, a photo or a marketing rendering is not enough to cost tooling, cycle time or material.

What file format do you need?

STEP is preferred. We also accept Parasolid, IGES and native SolidWorks files. A dimensioned drawing is welcome if you have one, but it is not required to get started.

Do you offer CAD design services?

Accepted Answer

No. We do not design parts or convert sketches into models. If you need the part modelled, a design firm or a freelance engineer can produce a STEP file and we will quote it the day it arrives. What we do give free on every quote is DFM feedback on the model you bring: wall thickness, draft, radii, and the features that cause trouble in production.

Do you work with prototypes or production only?

Both. We support programs from prototype through production, and the same team stays with the part the whole way. Prototype tooling runs in as soon as 10 days, bridge tooling in about 3 weeks, and SPI production tooling in about a month.

How fast can you quote?

24 to 48 hours from a complete CAD package, and often the same day. Every quote includes a free DFM review. Incomplete packages take longer because we have to come back and ask.

What do you need from me to start?

Accepted Answer

A CAD model, the material or target durometer, the quantity, and your target date. Tolerances and critical dimensions can be defined after the initial review.

Do you sign NDAs?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Send yours with your quote request and we will get it executed before any files move. Your drawings, models and program details are never shared outside the team working on your part.

What processes do you run?

Plastic injection molding, CNC machining and turning, urethane casting, and assembly and finishing. If your part needs a process we do not run, we will tell you rather than pass it along.

Where do you manufacture?

Accepted Answer

We make parts in company-owned facilities in the United States and overseas, with US-based program oversight, headquarters in Delray Beach, Florida, and sales and program management in the US and Europe. We are not a European manufacturer, so if your program requires production inside the EU we are not the right fit. Where parts ship to is a separate question, and freight terms are spelled out in every quote.

Are you certified?

Yes. Axtonne is ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certified and ITAR registered. We support PPAP levels 1 through 5, first article inspection, ISIR and AS9102B documentation.
